Passport to Success


Belleville SDA Church is member of the Belleville area Chamber of Commerce.  

We are hosting a free professional development event for the youth.  Namely, Passport to Success is one of three events to help professionally develop our youth.  The events are geared toward helping our youth choose a career and develop a plan to help them achieve career goals. Passport to Success is tailored to those who are seeking college or skilled trades.  Our first event will be on career planning with two speakers: Guy Franklin, Journeyman Wireman Electrician; and Joe Mucha, Product Development Engineer.

Location: Belleville SDA Church, 89 S. Edgemont, Belleville, MI 48111
When: Saturday, February 29, 2020
Time: 7:00 p.m.

St. Patrick's Wreath Making

This Irish themed class creates a mesh wreath for St. Patrick's day. Make that favorite Shamrock themed wreath to place on your door or wall. Assorted Mesh materials are supplied and the cost per wreath is $30.00plain or with extra Large clover and clover lights $40.00. Choose ahead of time the style you would like to create. Additional decorations will be available for extra cost.

Belleville City Council Meeting

The City of Belleville operates with a Council/Manager form of Home Rule government. The legislative and policy-making body consists of a 5-member City Council. Council terms are four years (staggered); there are no term limits.

The position of Mayor is by popular public vote on a four-year cycle. The Mayor Pro-Tem is elected from within the Council, by the Council. The City Council meets twice monthly on the first and third Mondays of the month.

All meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, unless otherwise posted. Any changes to regularly scheduled meetings will be posted at City Hall and on the website.

Council meetings are open to the public, with a segment of each council meeting open for public comments.

Van Buren Township Board of Trustees Meeting

Board Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, at Township Hall. Work Study Meetings are held on Monday at 4:00 p.m. preceding the Tuesday Board Meeting in the Sheldon Room. In accordance with the Board Meeting Conduct Policy Resolution 2018-07.

If any other Election is called, scheduled meetings may be cancelled and notice of cancellation will be posted accordingly.  If a Holiday occurs on a Monday the Work Study Session has been moved to Tuesday.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is the largest high school robotics competition in the world, encouraging students to expand their horizons in science, technology, engineering, and math and apply their skills in a fun and collaborative adventure. Nearly 7,000 teams around the world participate in this yearly competition by building robots with guidance from local engineers and mentors.

The Belleville High School FIRST Robotics Team is now in its fourth year. In the first season, the team featured a fine showing and yielded two awards for the rookie team and also won a district competition. The team has grown in knowledge and size over the past two years. Students are eagerly lined up to join this group to stretch their technical and organizational skills in preparation for the 2019 contest. In addition, the B.H.S. team will be hosting another Michigan district competition in March of 2020.
