Agenda: 10:30 - 11:00 Registration (coffee, snacks) 11:00 - 12:00 Speakers 12:00 - 12:30 Q&A, Networking Speaker Bios: Josh Yafa As a portfolio advisor with Wellington Management, Josh works closely with the firm’s portfolio managers, macro analysts, and asset allocation strategists, and is responsible for articulating the firm’s investment strategies to clients and prospects. Within the Portfolio Advisor Group, he covers a variety of strategies and asset classes, spanning domestic and international equities and fixed income. He represents the firm’s global investment capabilities and advises clients, prospects, and consultants on global investing issues. Before joining the firm in 2020, Josh led Thornburg Investment Management’s client-facing education and articulation efforts as the director of Client Portfolio Management and Product Management (2012 – 2020). Prior to Thornburg, he was a product manager at Franklin Templeton, where he worked with the investment team and clients of the Templeton Global Bond strategy (2011 – 2012). Additionally, he was part of Barclays’ Investment Management Division, where he advised high-net-worth, family office, and endowment & foundation clients (2006 – 2011). Josh received his MBA in finance from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management (2007) and his BA with honors in business economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1997). Leah Robinson Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Leah graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Political Science, with a concentration in National Security, in 2017 and 2020 respectively. Upon graduating with her undergraduate degree, Leah was brought to Michigan to help coach the University of Michigan Dance Team while also serving as a Constituent Relations Director and then Legislative Director for the Michigan House of Representatives Vice Chair of the Education Committee. Transitioning to a central staff position in early 2020, Leah became a Policy Advisor to the Michigan House’s Republican Caucus handling many of the COVID-19 Executive Orders, as well as transportation and military and veterans’ issues. After completing her Master’s degree, Leah worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C. and was quickly brought back to Michigan to serve alongside the staff at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. Leah Robinson currently serves as the Director of Tax Policy and Legislative Affairs for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce covering issues from tax to workforce development and education. more info... |
